Cricket teams of many countries take part in this tournament and each team has time to play preliminary matches and try their best to get qualify for the World Cup final.
The format of this match is One-Day International. International Cricket Council (ICC) has all the rights to perform the tournaments. ICC is an International Organisation that looks after the management and smooth conduct of tournaments under its governance. They conduct it every fourth coming year.
Especially the Cricket World cup is the most overrated sports program and Broadcasters gain very huge TRP. There are huge fans who are just wanting to watch the match live in the stadium. There are tickets sold for the same. These matches also get many sponsorships, which help the organizers for easy and smooth conduct of tournaments.

History of ICC Cricket World Cup
The first world cup was played in 1975, and England hosted it. It was the only nation that came forward and organized the first Cricket World Cup. They conducted these events on a big platform, which requires lots of funds and good financial stability. On 7 June 1975, the very first Cricket World Cup was played.
A total of eight teams took part in the first World Cup. The eight teams are as follows- INDIA, AUSTRALIA, PAKISTAN, ENGLAND, NEW ZEALAND, WEST INDIES, SRI LANKA, and SOUTH AFRICA. Initially, South Africa got banned because of racism and later joined the Cricket World Cup tournament.
West Indies & Australia played the finals and West Indies won it at Lord’s. South Africa returned to the World Cup Tournament after there was an end to the Apartheid boycott in the year 1992. Cricket World Cup was slowly getting more popular in many other countries. The Tournament kept on expanding year by year.
In the 1996 World Cup, there were twelve teams taking part. Until 2003, the number of teams remained the same. In 2007, the number of teams got increased and there were sixteen teams that took part and were allocated into four groups of four.
In 2011 & 2015 total team took part were fourteen teams, two groups of seven, and each team was allowed to play in a round-robin format. In the latest World Cup in 2019 which was held in England & Wales.
The number of teams that took part was dropped to ten and a similar format was used as in 1992. The Cricket World Cup Tournament in the year 2023 will be held in India.

The format of the Cricket World Cup gradually kept changing over time. Cricket is all about teamwork and coordination amongst each other. Fifteen players are there on each team in which eleven players come to the on-field and the rest four stay in the pavilion and are known as substitutes.
In order to maintain the flow of the tournament, backup players, also known as substitute players, kept with the team as bench strength.

There were 8 teams when the cricket world cup got started, which were further divided into two groups. The first four matches were played by eight teams. The tournaments comprised group stages and knock-out stages.
All the teams get the chance to play with each other on the group stage. Then, as per the result, in the group stage knockout matches are played, then the top 2 teams of each group are taken, which play the semi-finals, and then the finals are conducted.

Selection of the Host
The International Cricket Council conducts the bid amongst the nation, who shows a keen interest in conducting the Cricket World Cup. Then ICC configures the bid and decides the Host Country. The first three World Cup Tournaments were held and hosted by England.
ICC and other members also wanted the World Cup should be held in England, as they were having good resources and were also interested in investing those resources for the huge event. England was ready to conduct the Cricket World Cup due to its good funds.
The daylight facility was also very beneficial. Otherwise, where daylight facility was not available in those years, the one-day match took 2-3 days to get finished. Since then, other countries were also building their respective stadium to international standards so that every country should get an equal opportunity to host the mega-event.
Cricket World Cup shows the good motivation and self-reliance amongst each player. Every team member and the player tries to put their best performance on their team and for their respective nations.
ICC Cricket World Cup: Awards
Earlier, there have been very limited awards to the players, whose performance is outstanding only “Man Of The Tournament”. But in the recent past, there have been multiple awards to the players, and that is a very important part of the tournament.
These small gestures help in building lots and lots of confidence amongst the players and also they get motivated for their future performance. “Man of the Match” and “Man of the Tournament” awards boost the morale of each player in the tournament.
The sports person from respective nation comes with the motto of achieving the Trophy/rewards and give their best performance & winning for its Nation. Man of the Match refers to the one who contributes to a particular match.
Whereas, Man of the Tournament refers to the particular player who remains consistent, good contribution with bat and ball, and has a regular performance in all the matches.
