This series is played between India and Australia. It is played in test series format. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) organises these tournaments. It is an organisation that has the rights to govern Cricket in India, under the supervision of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and in the supervision of Australian cricket. In 1996-1997, the first edition was played, and it resulted in a win for India.
The two Legends- Allan Border from Australia and Sunil Gavaskar from India. These two names have been very popular in their time for creating a historical record in the game of cricket. Giving those legends a Tribute by naming the series by their name. Australia was the only country to tour India just after independence.
