Indian premier league (IPL) is the game of cricket, which is widely popular, especially amongst the Indian fans. In 2008, the inaugural edition of IPL was played. India’s most popular cricket festival is ready for hosting the 14th edition of Indian Premier League and it is scheduled to begin from 9th April’2021. 

These tournaments are managed and organised by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It is an organisation who has the rights to govern the Cricket in India, under the supervision the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The IPL is played in T20 format.

This tournament is mostly played and conducted between the months of March to May. Total eight teams participate and they represent their respective cities & States in India. First edition of IPL was played in 2008 and it’s organised every year. The latest edition was played in 2021.

IPL attracts large amount of audience and in 2014 IPL ranked sixth by average attendance as compared to the other entire sports league in the world. In year 2010, IPL was the first sporting event which was telecasted live on YouTube. In 2019, it gained the brand value of Rs. 475 Billion. 

BCCI confirmed that2015 IPL season contributed Rs. 11.5 Billion to the GDP of Indian Economy. There has been total thirteen IPL seasons tournaments till 2020. Mumbai Indians are the current Title holder. The 2020 tournament was to be played and hosted by India but could not happen due to Covid-19 and was played in United Arab Nation.

          The first game of the 14th edition is between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. IPL is one of the most demanding game for the Indian fans and is also one of the most viewed cricket tournaments.

1. Ab De Villiers

AB De Villiers is a multi-talented sports person. He has been given a special name ‘Superman’. He has maintained a good fitness. Whether he is behind the wickets or anywhere in the field, he performs brilliantly.

It becomes very interesting moment to watch the duo of Virat Kohli and AB De Villiers.

Ab De Villiers has made a record in IPL history by taking 103 catches so far.

2. Kiren Pollard

Kiren Pollard is a part of Mumbai Indians for such a huge time, and Mumbai also seeks him a reliable player. Pollard is a six feet tall man, he not only hit long sixes but effortlessly takes catches at 10 feet height.

He is a complete package of all-rounder the best records in his career is 90 catches in his IPL career. He is not only good at taking catches but also good with the run outs and quick fielding.

Pollard was awarded with the best catch in the match against Rajasthan Royals in 2014.

3. Suresh Raina

After making a record in IPL for making a quickest 5000+ run. He is also on the list for the best fielder in IPL. Currently, Raina is a part of Chennai Super Kings.

He gives his best fielding performance specially in the 30-yard circle and in slips. He was also awarded as the best catch of the season in 2016 in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

While standing in the slips, he took the flying catch at the slip.

4. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja is one of the best fielders in the all-cricket format, specially in 20-20 format like IPL. Jadeja is a very skilled and talented fielder, especially his run outs are so accurate, which gives 99% accurate result.

Ravindra Jadeja guards the field very well, saving thrice into twice and twice into ones. He has recently performed a over whelming catch in 2020 season and got awarded for the same.

His best figures are 68 catches in IPL history.

5. Faf Du Plessis

Faf is the electrifying fielder with a great presence of mind. He is also a very good performer with the bat. He has been awarded with the best catch of the season in 2020, and also throughout the season he performed well.

Chennai Super Kings have him as a responsible player and also team mates feel reliable with his performance.

His best figures are of 54 catches in the IPL history.

6. Hardik Pandya

In recent series Hardik Pandya have been doing very fantastic with both bat, Bowl and his fielding also been fabulous. Just like his team mate Kiren Pollard, he is also amongst the best fielder for Mumbai Indians.

Specially, in the death overs Hardik is seen guarding the field at long and long off. In his IPL career he has managed to take 49 catches.

7. Dwayne Bravo

Dwayne Bravo is a Caribbean cricket, plays for Chennai Super Kings for such a long time. The one very remember able moment when Bravo took a wonderful catch in his own spell.

The Chennai team has full confidence in him as a part of the team for such a long tenure, his dives, and some remarkable saves at the boundary.

His best performance figure is total 75 catches in his IPL season.

8. David Miller

David Miller is a South Africa cricketer and currently bought by Rajasthan Royals. He is a very flexible sport person, carries the good gene of his nation.

Millers diving catches have been the keen part to watch for. His best IPL career figure 49 catches.

9. Virat Kohli

Virat has been a very good performer at the fields, especially in the 30-yard circle and in long on and long off. He is the Captain of India Cricket team and also the skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Partnership between Virat Kohli and his team mate AB de Villiers has been awesome. Both are very good performer on the field. His best IPL figures are 77 catches.

10. David Warner

David Warner is an Australia cricketer and currently plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad as a skipper. He is really so quick toward the field and really not allow any extra runs to the team.

David Warner has not only made records as a fielder but very brilliant with bat as well. His best career records is 66 catches in the IPL history.
