The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was earlier known as ICC World Twenty. International Cricket Council (ICC) has all the rights to perform the tournaments. ICC is an International Organisation who looks after the management and smooth conduct of tournaments under their Governance.

It is played in 20-20 format. Initially, the T20 series was started and adopted by English Cricket Board. Their matches started attracting more and more crowd with a large number of audience. Gradually other Cricket Board also stated adopting this format due to its high popularity and unexpected crowd. Total sixteen team participate in the T20 tournament. 

The first T20 World Cup was played in year 2007. In 2016, the current edition was played & West Indies won that Edition. The Tournament was conducted on every two years since the beginning but after 2016 tournament the ICC members decided to conduct it in 2020, which was after four years. Due to Covid-19 issue tournament got cancelled and could not happen.

For the year 2021 and 2022, the host country has been also changed and the current tournaments have also been postponed. India to host 2021 series and 2022 in Australia. After, the 2016 series ICC once decided to organise the tournament in 2018 and South Africa was the possible host. Every countryman who participates for themselves and for their Nation has the motive of achieving the good record and making their Nation proud. Cricket is all about teamwork and co-ordination amongst each other. Here is the complete list of:

1. Sri Lanka Vs Kenya

The match between Sri Lanka and Kenya was held at Johannesburg, South Africa in 2007. It was the highest scored match, where Sri Lanka team scored 260 runs. The contribution from Sanath Jayasuriya and Mahela Jayawardene were the maximum.

The score was very big for the opponent. Then, Kenya team came to chase and somehow started losing early wickets and lost the match, and Sri Lanka won the match by 172 runs.

2. England Vs South Africa

The match between England and South Africa was hosted and held at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. South Africa batsmen Opening batsmen played a good knock and made the total 229.

England came out for bat and its opening batsmen Jason Roy and middle order batsmen Joe Root played really well and achieved the target and England won by 2 wickets.

3. South Africa Vs England

The match between South Africa and England stood very interesting. It was played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. South Africa batsmen played really well, specially the opening partnership. South Africa got the good start.

Till the end there were contribution by all the top and middle order batsmen. South Africa played 20 overs and posted the huge score of 229 runs, but unfortunately this huge was easily achievable by England team and somehow South Africa lost the match.

4. India Vs England

The match between India and England was played at Durban in 2007. India came out to bat first and both opening batsmen Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag built a wonderful partnership and some contribution by Yuvraj Singh helped to give the target of 219 runs.

England came out to chase the target and their batsmen were playing really well and reached very close to the target, but at last Indian bowlers restricted them on 200 and finally India won the match by 18 runs.

5. South Africa Vs Scotland

The match between South Africa and Scotland was played in London in 2009. South Africa came out to bat first and all the top order batsmen and middle order batsmen contributed well, especially AB De Villiers, who was not out at 79 and gave the target of 212 runs.

The target was very huge for Scotland team. The whole team got all out at 81 runs and couldn’t even reach nearby the target and South Africa won by 130 runs.

6. South Africa Vs Afghanistan

The match between South Africa and Afghanistan was held at Mumbai, India. It was again the high-scoring match. South Africa came out to bat first and the opening partnership didn’t stand well, but the middle order batsmen Faf du Plessis and AB De Villiers scored good runs and made their team reach the total of 209 runs.

But this total seems to be very huge for Afghanistan team and they just made 172 run and got all out.

7. South Africa Vs West Indies

The match between South Africa and West Indies stood very interesting, as none of the team were in a mood to lose the match. West Indies came out to bat first and opening batsmen Chris Gayle played a wonderful knock and scored a century 117 run in just 57 balls and the total team score reached to 205.

Then it was the South Africa’s turn to chase the battle, and they chased it very well and achieved the target very easily in just 17.4 overs.

8. West Indies Vs South Africa

The West Indies team played really well, and the match was played at Johannesburg. Christopher Henry Gayle scored a fastest century of 117 runs in just 57 balls and helped the team to reach the total 205 runs.

The total was huge, but it was very easily achievable by South Africa team.

9. West Indies Vs Australia

The West Indies team again proved themselves by making a big scoring match. Chris Gayle again scored a huge individual 75 of just 41 balls and other batsmen also contributed well. The total team score reached to 205.

Australian team came out to bat but West Indies bowlers were in a drastic form which didn’t allow Australia batsmen to take lead and West Indies won the match by 74 runs.

10. Pakistan Vs Bangladesh

The match between Pakistan and Bangladesh was played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Pakistan came out to bat and scored 201 runs with the loss of 5 wickets in their first innings.

Then Bangladesh came out to bat and couldn’t reach near the target and made just 146 runs in 20 over.
