The Champions League is also commonly known as CLT20. It is the tournament held annually on a International level between top teams of major Cricketing nations. This tournament was launched in year 2008. The first tournament of this league was to be played in 2008, but due to Mumbai attack on the same year the tournament got cancelled. 

After that, the tournament occurred in 2009 and hosted by India. The latest Champions League Twenty20 tournament was played in 2014 in India. It’s a 20-20 format league. These tournaments are managed and organised jointly by BCCI, Cricket Australia, and Cricket South Africa.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Champions League Twenty20 and Indian Premier League is Mr Sundar Raman. The tournament used to take place during September and October month which is played in a period of two to three weeks. Here is list of:

1. Kings XI Punjab vs Northern Districts

Kings XI Punjab: 215/5

Northern Districts: 95 (15.2/20 ov, T: 216)

Winner: Kings XI Punjab won by 120 runs

MOM: Manan Vohra, PBKS65(32)

The match was played between Kings XI Punjab and Northern Districts was played at Mohali in 2014. Kings played first and the opener thrashed the Norther bowlers and opening partnership between Virendra Sehwag and Manan Vohra was 117 runs. The total scored reached till 215 runs with the loss of 5 wickets.

Northern team came out to chase the massive target but despite having talented players and skilled bowlers they couldn’t do it and the whole team got back to pavilion by just scoring 95 runs and it was the big win for Kings by 120 runs.

2. Highveld Lions vs Sydney Sixers

Highveld Lions: 121/10

Sydney Sixers: 124/0 (12.3 ov, T: 122)

Winner: Sydney Sixers won by 10 wickets

MOM: Michael Lumb, SS 82*(42)

The match between Highveld Lions and Sydney Sixers stood very dominating. Lions came out to bat first after winning the toss. The openers couldn’t perform well, none of them any good partnership. Little contribution by the middle and bottom order batsmen and some how managed to reach the total 121 runs.

Sydney Sixers came to chase and both the openers Michael Lumb and Brad Haddin were in terrific form and scored 82 and 37 respectively and Sydney Sixer won it by 10 wickets. Michael Lumb was awarded Player of the Match.

3. Kolkata Knight Riders vs Titans

Kolkata Knight Riders: 188/5

Titans: 89 (16.4/20 ov, T:189)

Winner: Kolkata Knight Riders won by 99 runs

MOM: Debabrata Das, KKR 43*(19)

The match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Titans was played at Cape Town in 2012. Kolkata won the toss and elected to bat first and Captain Gautam Gambhir scored 44 runs and Debabrata Das scored 43 and remains not out and took team to the total of 188 runs.

Titans came out to chase and the openers Henry Davids and Jacque Rudolph were looking in good form but when they lost there wicket all other middle order batsmen went back to pavilion very early and the whole team got all out at 89 runs. It was the big win for KKR by 99 runs.

4. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Guyana

Royal Challengers Bangalore: 106/1 (12.2/20 ov, T: 104)

Guyana: 103/10

Winner: Royal Challengers Bangalore by 9 wickets

MOM: Jacques Kallis, RCB 43*(32) & 3/16

The match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Guyana was played at Centurion in 2010 edition of Champions League. Guyana came out to bat first and the team got a good start initially but the RCB bowling unit was in terrific form and restricted them in 103 runs.

RCB came out to chase and the opener Jacques Kallis and Rahul Dravid 76 runs and Rahul Dravid lost his wicket at 33 runs, Robin came out in the middle and scored 25 winning runs and Royal Challengers Bangalore won it by 9 wickets.

5. Chennai Super Kings vs Wayamba

Chennai Super Kings: 200/3

Wayamba: 103/10 (17.1/20 ov, T: 201)

Winner: Chennai Super Kings won by 97 runs

MOM: Suresh Raina, RCB 87(44)

The match between Chennai Super Kings and Wayambawas played at Centurion in 2010. Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first and the opener Murli Vijay scored 68 runs and Suresh Raina scored 87 runs. With only 3 wickets down Chennai reached the total 200 runs.

The huge target was posted in front of the opposition team. The Wayamba came out to chase the big total but the openers couldn’t stand on the pitch for longer time and the whole team was dismissed at 103 runs.

6. Guyana vs Lions

Guyana: 148/9

Lions: 149/1 (15.1/20 ov, T: 149)

Winner: Lions won by 9 wickets (with 29 balls left)

MOM: Ethan O`Reilly, Lions 4/27

The match was played between Guyana and Lions was played at Johannesburg in 2010 edition of Champions League. Guyana came out to bat first and openers couldn’t perform well but the middle order carried the innings well and reached the total of 148 runs.

On the other side,Lions came out to chase, with just one wicket loss of Vandiar, Peterson and Cameron scored 57 and 78 runs respectively and took the team towards victory and won it by 9 wickets.

7. Hobart Hurricane vs Northern Districts

Hobart Hurricane: 178/3

Northern Districts: 92 (16.4/20 ov, T: 179)

Winner: Hobart Hurricane won by 86 runs

MOM: Ben Hilfenhaus, HH 3/14

The match was played between Hurricane and Northern Districts at Raipur in 2014. Initially the match was going very interesting but in the second innings the match turned. Hurricane team batted really well and Aiden Blizzard scored 62 runs and Shoaib Malik scored 45 and remained not out and built the total 178 runs.

Northern team came out to chase and no player took the responsibility to build the partnership and the whole team got all out at 92 runs. Finally, Hurricanes won the match by 86 runs.

8. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders

Royal Challengers Bangalore: 175/1 (18.1/20 ov, T:172)

Kolkata Knight Riders: 171/5

Winner: Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 9 wickets (with 11 balls remaining)

MOM: Chris Gayle, RCB 102*(55)

The match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders was played at Bangalore in 2011. RCB came out in the middle to open the innings and their batsmen were making the runs with a very slow run rate and the skipper Virat Kohli himself got out at duck and some how team managed to reach the total 169 runs.

Kolkata came out to chase and the players were in terrific form Jacque Kallis scored 64 runs and the skipper Gautam Gambhir scored 55 runs and remained not out. Kolkata Knight Riders won it by 9 wickets.

9. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Otago

Royal Challengers Bangalore: 188/2

Otago: 108 (17.5/20 ov, T:189)

Winner: Royal Challengers Bangalore won by 80 runs

MOM: Jacques Kallis 73*(59) & 3/18

The match was between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Otago was played at Bangalore in 2009. RCB players were in good form and Jacques Kallis knocked wonderful 73 runs not out and Ross Taylor scored 32 runs and remained not out and reached the total of 188 runs.

Otago team came out to chase and no player could scored a good partnership and the team somehow reached the total of 108 but could not achieve the target and RCB won it by 80 runs.

10. Rajasthan Royals vs Perth Scorchers

Rajasthan Royals: 121/1 (16.3/20 ov, T:121)

Perth Scorchers: 120/10

Winner: Rajasthan Royals won by 9 wickets (with 21 balls remaining)

MOM: Kevon Cooper, RR 4/18

The match was played between Rajasthan Royals and Perth Scorchers was played at Jaipur in 2013. Both the team were in good form.Scorchers team came out to bat first and there was no big partnership made but all the batsmen contributed and reached the total of 120 runs.

Rajasthan came to chase and with just losing 1 wicket of skipper Rahul Dravid at zero, Ajinkya Rahane scored 62 and Sanju Samson scored 50 and both remained not out and Rajasthan won by 9 wickets.
