The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is a IPL franchise cricket team of Chennai, Tamil Nadu founded in 2008. The Chennai franchise was sold to the India Cements for $91 million (₹674 crores approx.). India Cements obtained the rights to the franchise for 10 years.

Earlier this IPL franchise has been moved to a different name CSK Cricket Ltd. Supreme Court of India did so after he stuck down the controversial amendment in the BCCI constitution clause number 6.2.4 which permits BCCI officials to a commercial interest in Indian premier league and champions league twenty20 on dated 22 January 2015.

M. A. Chidambaram Stadium is a historic stadium in India, located in Chennai. This stadium has a little cute name “The Chepauk”. This is the home ground of Super kings. The Super Kings have a 67.44%-win record at this venue.

In the 2011 season, the Super Kings won their entire home games (8 matches) including the final against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). As a result, the Super Kings were the first team in history to win all of their home games in a season, as well as the first team to win the tournament at home.

The team is led by the skipper, Mr Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MSD) who has led the team to three victories since 2008. The brand value of the Super Kings in 2019 is estimated to be around ₹732 crores, making them the second-most valuable IPL franchise.
