Indian premier league (IPL) is the game of cricket, which is widely popular, especially amongst the Indian fans. In 2008, the inaugural edition of IPL was played. India’s most popular cricket festival is ready for hosting the 14th edition of Indian Premier League and it is scheduled to begin from 9th April’2021.
These tournaments are managed and organised by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It is an organisation who has the rights to govern the Cricket in India, under the supervision the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The IPL is played in T20 format.
This tournament is mostly played and conducted between the months of March to May. Total eight teams participate and they represent their respective cities & States in India. First edition of IPL was played in 2008 and it’s organised every year. The latest edition was played in 2021.
IPL attracts large amount of audience and in 2014 IPL ranked sixth by average attendance as compared to the other entire sports league in the world. In year 2010, IPL was the first sporting event which was telecasted live on YouTube. In 2019, it gained the brand value of Rs. 475 Billion.
BCCI confirmed that2015 IPL season contributed Rs. 11.5 Billion to the GDP of Indian Economy. There has been total thirteen IPL seasons tournaments till 2020. Mumbai Indians are the current Title holder. The 2020 tournament was to be played and hosted by India but could not happen due to Covid-19 and was played in United Arab Nation.
The first game of the 14th edition is between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. IPL is one of the most demanding game for the Indian fans and is also one of the most viewed cricket tournaments.

1. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s 263/5 in April 2013
Royal Challengers Bangalore tops the list by scoring a massive score of 263/5 in April 2013. Chris Gayle contributed 175 runs in just 66 balls and on the other end Ab De Villiers also don’t stop and contributed 31 runs in just 8 balls.
This match was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Pune Warriors India and this match was won by RCB.

2. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s 248/3 in May 2016
Royal Challengers Bangalore again tops and holds the second spot in the list. The match was played in May 2016, against Gujarat Lions.
Total 248/3 runs were posted on the board, maximum contribution by Ab De Villiers 129 runs (not out) and 109 runs by Virat Kohli.
It is the best ever partnership between both. The match was won by Royal Challengers Bangalore.

3. Chennai Super Kings’s 246/5 in April 2010
Chennai Super Kings bagged the third spot on the list. Murali Vijay individually scored 127 runs, which helped Chennai team to put total 246 runs on the board. It was really a good knock by Murali Vijay.
His century helps the team to build a huge total for the opponent. Chennai Super Kings was playing on his home ground against Rajasthan Royals and won the match by 23 runs in April 2010.
4. Kolkata Knight Riders’s 245/6 in May 2018
Kolkata Knight Riders was awarded for the highest team score of 245 runs. It was the match against Kings XI Punjab, played at Indore in May 2018.
The single innings score was 245/6 with a run rate of 12.25. Sunil Narine scored 75 off 36 balls and 50 off 23 deliveries by Dinesh Karthik.
Both played a wonderful inning and helped Kolkata Knight Riders to win the match by 31 runs.
5. Chennai Super Kings`s 240/4 in April 2008
Chennai Super Kings again bagged its fifth spot in the list of the highest scorer in a match in April 2008. Michael Hussey played a wonderful inning and scored 116 runs off 54 balls.
It was a massive inning by Michael Hussey, scored a century and the good total for the team. Chennai posted 240-4 in 20 overs.
The match was played against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali, and Chennai won the match by 33 runs.
6. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s 235/1 in May 2015
Royal Challengers Bangalore returned to the list of the highest run scorer. Ab De Villiers batted tremendously and scored 133 runs not out and posted 235/1 on the board.
AB de Villiers comes to bat. He puts more interest and glamour to the tournament. He plays a best ever shots and make audience feel good.
AB de Villiers is one of the most aggressive players for Royal Challengers Bangalore, also known as Mr.360.
Mumbai Indians was not able to achieve its target, and finally RCB won the match by 39 runs in May 2015.
7. Kings XI Punjab’s 232/2 in May 2011
Kings XI Punjab is also on the list. It was the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore played at Dharamshala in May 2011.
The Kings XI Punjab’s skipper Adam Gilchrist scored 106 and posted total 232/2 runs on the board.
Being a Skipper, he stood upon his responsibility and scored a century.
The match was won by Kings XI Punjab by 111 runs.
8. Kolkata Knight Riders’s 232 in April 2019
Kolkata team didn’t forget to be a part of the top scorer list. Kolkata team posted 232 runs in the 1st innings with a run rate of 11.6.
Andre Russell scored a massive 80 runs in just 40 deliveries. It was a tremendous hitting by Andre Russell in this match.
The match was held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in April 2019. The match was against Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders won by 34 runs.
9. Delhi Daredevils’s 231/4 in April 2011
The list also includes Delhi Daredevils. The best partnership between the Australian Cricketer David Warner and the one only our Indian Cricketer Virendra Sehwag, unfortunately both scored 77 runs each and helped Delhi to post 231/4.
Both batted very well and good coordination amongst them. The match was against Kings XI Punjab and won by Delhi Daredevils by 29 runs at Delhi in April 2011.
10. Kings XI Punjab’s 231/4 in May 2014
Kings XI Punjab again stood at the tenth spot of the highest team score list. The match was between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings played at Cuttack in May 2014.
Glenn Maxwell scored 90 off just 38 balls and also was awarded Man of the match. Punjab posted total 231/4 with the run rate of 11.55.
His Inning help the team to post a good total against Chennai, and finally Punjab won it by 33 runs.
