Cricket, nowadays has been a very popular sport in many countries, not only in men’s cricket but also this craze has been developed in Women’s cricket too. Many countries participate and play their preliminary matches to get qualify for the finals. 

The format of this match is One-Day International. International Cricket Council (ICC) has all the rights to perform the tournaments. ICC is an International Organisation that looks after the management and smooth conduct of tournaments under their Governance. It is conducted every fourth coming year. These matches also get many sponsorships, which helps the organisers for easy and smooth conduct of tournaments. The flagship event for the International cricket council is none other than Cricket World Cup.

1. Ireland vs England

The match between Ireland and England was played at Bangalore in 2011 World Cup Edition. It was one of the most thrilling match ever played. England came to bat first and got the good opening partnership. Jonathan Trott played a wonderful knock of 92 runs and England reached the total 327 runs.

In the second innings Ireland came out to bat and on the very first ball by Anderson, William Porterfield lost his wicket but Kevin O’Brien played a wonderful knock of 113 runs and made his win by 3 wickets.

2. Bangladesh vs West Indies

The match between Bangladesh and West Indies was played in Taunton in 2019. West Indies came out to bat and Chris Gayle along with Evin Lewis came to open the innings and after playing 13 balls, Chris Gayle got out on duck.

The partnership between Lewis and Hope stood strong and lead the team to a total of 321 runs. Bangladesh came to bat and its opening partnership stood very well and the performance by Shakib Al Hasan of 124 runs not out to lead the team to a wonderful win by 7 wickets.

3. Bangladesh vs Scotland

The match between Bangladesh and Scotland was played in Nelson in 2015. Scotland opener Kyle Coetzer played a brilliant stroke of 156 runs and lead their team to a total of 318 runs.

Bangladesh came out to bat in the second innings and all the batsmen contributed well and gave a brilliant performance and made team win by 6 wickets.

4. Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe

The match between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe was played in New Plymouth in 1992. Zimbabwe opted to bat first and the opener Andy Flower scored 115 runs and also middle-order batsmen contributed well and lead its team to a total of 312 runs.

Whereas, in the second innings, the Sri Lanka opening partnership stood well between Roshan Mahanama and Athula Samarasekera of 134 runs and Sri Lanka won the match with 3 wickets in hand.

5. Sri Lanka vs England

The match between Sri Lanka and England was played in Wellington in 2015. England opted to bat first and the opening partnership didn’t stand well by the stroke by Joe Root of 121 runs lead its team to the total of 309 runs.

Whereas, in the second innings, Sri Lanka openers L. Thirimanne and T. Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara played a wonderful inning. Sri Lanka, with the loss of just one wicket, leads the team and won by 9 wickets.

6. Ireland vs Netherlands

The match between Ireland and Netherland was played in Kolkata in the 2011 world cup edition. Netherland came out to bat first and the opener couldn’t do well but the innings by Ryan ten Doeschate of 106 runs stood marvellous and also Peter Borren scored 84 runs and the team the total of 306 runs and the whole team got all out.

In the second innings, Ireland came to bat, and the opener made the match a thriller. Paul Stirling scored 101 runs and with the fall of just 4 wickets, Ireland won by 6 wickets and with 14 balls remaining.

7. Ireland vs West Indies

The match between Ireland and West Indies was played at Nelson in the 2015 edition of the World Cup. West Indies opted to bat first and there was only a small partnership made by the openers but Lendl Simmons and Darren Sammy played a brilliant knock of 191 runs and helped team reach the total of 304 runs.

In the second innings Ireland came out to bat and they got a brilliant start and the top 4 batsmen played a wonderful innings and made the team win by 4 wickets with 25 balls remaining.

8. England vs West Indies

The match between England and West Indies was played at Bridgetown in the 2007 edition world cup. Where West Indies opted to bat first and the opener Chris Gayle and Devon Smith made the game thriller and scored the partnership of 140 runs, other middle-order batsmen also performed well and reached the total 300 runs.

England came out to bat in the second innings and the wonderful Century by the skipper Kevin Peterson of 100 runs stood brilliant and Michael Vaughan scored 79 runs and the West Indies Bowlers couldn’t stop them and trashes all the bowlers and finally, England won it by 1 wicket and 1 ball remaining.

9. South Africa vs India

The match between South Africa and India was played at Nagpur in the 2011 world cup edition. India came out to bat first, and the openers performed really well Sachin Tendulkar scored a century of 111 runs and also the Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir played brilliantly, but none of the other batsmen did well and somehow reached the total 296 runs.

South Africa came out to bat aggressively and the opener Hashim Amla played a beautiful knock of 61 runs and Jacques Smith scored 69 and AB De Villiers scored 52 runs and lead its team to a wonderful win by 3 wickets.

10. New Zealand vs South Africa

The match between New Zealand and South Africa was the 1st semi-final of the 2015 edition world cup, played in Auckland. South Africa came out to bat first and the openers couldn’t perform good but the middle order batsmen handled the innings brilliantly Faf du Plessis scored 82 and AB De Villiers scored 65 and remained not out and reached the total 281 runs.

New Zealand came to bat and the opening partnership and the middle order partnership made New Zealand win by 4 wickets.
