In 1998, ICC changed the name of Knockout Tournament to Champions Trophy. It is played in 50- over format. The first tournament was played in 1998 and was continued to be played and held after every alternative year. But the format of the Champions Trophy gradually kept changing over the period. Since the beginnings of the tournament in 2009& till the present, it is being played every fourth coming year. England & Wales hosted the latest edition in 2017. 

The current champions are Pakistan. International Cricket Council (ICC) has all the rights to perform the tournaments. ICC is an International Organisation that looks after the management and smooth conduct of tournaments under their Governance. It has One-Day International (ODI) format. Here is the list of:

1. Kyle Mills

Kyle Mills is a New Zealand Right Arm Fast Bowler. He is known for his best all-rounder performance. He is also the lead mentor for the Kolkata Knight Riders team. He is an experienced cricketer in the New Zealand team. He started playing the ICC Champions Trophy tournaments in 2002 and latest played till 2013.

He played 15 matches and been part of 15 innings and took 28 wickets. K.Mills bowled 7 maidan overs and also remained very economic during his career spell. His best bowling figure is 4/30.

2. Lasith Malinga

Lasith Malinga is a Sri Lankan Right Arm Fast Bowler. He is an Orthodox bowler and has a unique bowing style. He is one of the finest fast bowler in the Sri Lankan line up. He first played his ICC Champions Trophy tournament in 2006 and played till 2017.

He played a total of 16 matches and 16 innings and took 25 wickets. Especially in the opening spell and in death. He is very destructive. Lasith Malinga bowled total 9 maidan over. Sometime he remains quite expensive. His best bowling figure is 4/34.

3. Muttiah Muralitharan

Muttiah Muralitharan is a Sri Lankan Right Arm Spin Bowler. His spinning capability is very dominating. By the grace of God, his bowing arm is designed in such a way that no one can copy him. He played his first ICC Champions Trophy tournament in 1998 and played till 2009.

He played total 17 matches and 15 innings and managed to take 24 wickets. He has a very good economic figure. He is one of the most successful bowler in the history of cricket. His best individual bowling figure is 4/15.

4. Brett Lee

Brett Lee is an Australian Right Arm Fast bowler. He is a fantastic bowler in the history of cricket. He is a sharp bowler and carries a good personality. He has first played his ICC Champions Trophy tournament in 2000 and played till 2009.

He played 16 matches and been part of 15 innings and took 22 wickets. His swing in the opening spell is quite impressive. He bowled total 6 maidan overs. His highest individual bowling figure is 3/38.

5. Glenn McGrath

Glenn McGrath is an Australian Right Arm fast bowler. He is considered as a best bowler and carries a record of best figure in the series. He started playing his ICC Champions Trophy tournament in 2000 and played till 2006. During his career he was a best bowler in the history of cricket.

He played total 12 matches and took 21 wickets and also remained very economic. His best bowling figure is 5/37. Glenn bowled total 13 maidan overs.

6. James Anderson

James Anderson is an English right-arm fast bowler. He is considered as a best bowler in the history of cricket and in all the formats of cricket. He the most wicket-taker in the test as well as ODI cricket. He started playing his ICC Champions Trophy tournaments in 2006 and played till 2013.

He played total 12 matches and 12 innings and took 21 wickets. He is the first English player to record his name on the top 10 list. He also carries a good economic rate, and he bowled total 6 maidan overs.

7. Jacques Kallis

Jacques Kallis is a South African right-arm fast bowler. He is one of the best all-rounder performers in the South African team. Not only with the bat but also as a bower he has proved himself. He first played his 1998 and latest played till 2009 series.

Kallis played total 17 matches and 15 innings and took 20 wickets. His best bowling figure is 5/30. He bowls with a very sharp-minded skill. He records a total of 3 maidan overs.

8. Mervyn Dillon

Mervyn Dillon is a right-arm fast bowler from West Indies. He also carries a good record in the test cricket as well. He is the only West Indies bowler to be a best performer in the list. He played his first ICC Champions Trophy tournament in 1998 and played till 2004.

He played a total of 7 matches and 7 innings and took 19 wickets. During his very short career, he still carries a good record. His best bowling figure is 5/29 and also he bowled 10 maidan overs.

9. Chaminda Vaas

Chaminda Vaas is a Sri Lankan left-arm Fast bowler. He is one of the finest bowler in the Sri Lankan line up. He has a good capability of bowling in a particular line with a swing in it. He played his first ICC Champions Trophy tournament in 1998 and played till 2006.

He played total 16 matches and 16 innings and knocked 18 wickets. His best bowling figure is 2/6, and he bowled total 19 maidan overs with very less economy rate.

10. Daniel Vettori

Daniel Vettori is a left-arm spin bowler from New Zealand. He is currently the coach for New Zealand team. He was one of the best bowler in all the cricket format. He played his first ICC Champions Trophy tournament in 1998 and played till 2013. He played total 17 matches and took 18 wickets with a very decent economy rate. His beat bowling figure is 3/14 and be bowled 12 maidan overs.
